1. Who we are
Velocity Rating is an NIL intelligence and athlete-momentum service operated by Kemph Ventures, LLC. This policy applies to velocityrating.com, the Velocity Rating iOS app, and the related services we operate (collectively, the “Service”).
2. Information we collect
Account and contact information
We collect information such as your name, email address, mobile number, password in hashed form, account role, profile photo, notification preferences, and sign-in and security events. We also store whether email, mobile, and two-factor authentication steps have been completed.
Identity and relationship-review information
When you claim an athlete profile or request an organization workspace, we may collect your legal name, school or organization, title, school email, date of birth, staff or authority-directory link, social handles, supporting notes, and any identity evidence you choose or are asked to provide. Administrators also keep review notes, call confirmation, decisions, and an audit history.
Workspace content
Depending on your role, we process saved players, private notes, relationship requests, representation records, saved news, NIL plans, deal-check inputs, reports, consent choices, and other actions you take within an authorized workspace.
Billing information
Athletic Department / GM and NIL Collective subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We receive identifiers, plan and subscription status, and payment-status information needed to provide and support access. Velocity Rating does not receive or store full payment-card numbers.
Device, usage, and diagnostics
We may collect device and browser information, IP address, app build, page and feature usage, push-notification tokens, referral information, and diagnostic or security logs. Our website uses Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand aggregate usage and improve the Service.
Athlete and sports information
We collect public or licensed athlete, roster, performance, schedule, media, social, and public-risk information from sports-data providers, public program and athlete pages, public news and social sources, and information contributed by athletes and authorized users. Some public athlete records exist independently of any Velocity Rating account.
3. How we use information
- Provide, personalize, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service.
- Verify contact ownership and support two-factor authentication and account recovery.
- Review claimed identities and organizational relationships. Contact confirmation, relationship confirmation, and payment do not grant private access; a Velocity Rating administrator must approve and verify the account.
- Generate ratings, reports, summaries, comparisons, alerts, and authorized analytics.
- Process organization subscriptions, prevent fraud, and maintain billing records.
- Send service, security, approval, relationship, billing, and optional notification updates.
- Comply with law, enforce our terms, investigate misuse, and protect people and the Service.
4. Public and private information
A public athlete profile may display public-safe identity information, linked public social accounts, and the overall Velocity Rating. Public visitors do not receive the private rating components, score receipt, reports, risk insights, representation details, workspace notes, or other protected analysis.
Connecting a social account may make the public handle and selected public profile facts richer, but it does not make private Velocity Rating insights public. Authorization is evaluated by our server for each protected request.
5. When we share information
We do not sell personal information and do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose information only as needed for the Service, including:
- Infrastructure and operations providers, including Cloudflare for hosting, storage, security, and computing.
- Communications providers, including Twilio for SMS verification and SendGrid for email.
- Stripe for organization subscription checkout and billing.
- Apple for iOS distribution and push-notification delivery.
- Google for website analytics and tag management.
- Data, media, and analysis providers when needed to collect, enrich, classify, or summarize sports and public-source information.
- Other users only when your role, authorization, and an applicable confirmed relationship permit it, or when you direct us to share a report.
- Legal, safety, and business-transfer recipients when required by law or reasonably needed to protect rights, safety, the Service, or a corporate transaction.
Service providers are permitted to use personal information only to perform services for us or as otherwise allowed by law, and we expect them to protect it appropriately.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain security and audit history, meet legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary by the type and purpose of the information.
You can permanently delete your Velocity Rating account in the iOS app from Account → Delete account. The deletion flow verifies your password, requires a final confirmation, and cancels an active organization subscription before removing the account. You do not need to call or email support to request deletion.
Deleting an account removes the login and account-associated private data, subject to limited records we must retain for security, fraud prevention, legal, or financial reasons. A public athlete record sourced independently from public or licensed sources may remain, but it will no longer be claimed by or linked to the deleted account. To request correction of public athlete facts, contact support.
7. Your choices
- Update available profile, social, notification, and workspace preferences in the Service.
- Disconnect a contributed social account and remove its stored observations where offered.
- Disable push notifications in iOS Settings.
- Withdraw optional aggregate NIL-data consent through the applicable athlete tool.
- Delete your account in the iOS app without contacting support.
- Ask to access, correct, or delete applicable personal information by emailing support@velocityrating.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
8. Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted transport, hashed passwords, two-factor authentication, authorization checks, and audit controls. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Contact support promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
9. Younger users
Velocity Rating is designed for college athletics and is not directed to children under 13. If we learn that we collected personal information directly from a child under 13 without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. A public sports record may still exist when information is lawfully available from public or licensed sources.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the Service changes. We will post the revised policy here and update the date above. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice when appropriate.
Questions or privacy requests can be sent to support@velocityrating.com. You can also review our Terms of Use and Support Center.
