Velocity Rating helps college athletics GMs prepare for roster decisions with performance, visibility, and public coverage in one evidence-backed briefing. See what changed, where the data is incomplete, and what your staff should review next.
What the coverage view can establish
Eligible news is deduplicated over 28 completed UTC days. A source observation does not establish complete monitoring of that day. Unknown buckets stay unknown; no continuous line fills them. Current evidence is insufficient for a comparable coverage trend, even if individual stories are available.
Positive, neutral and critical describe the included source material only. They do not measure representative public opinion or character. News coverage is separate from social discussion, video and private representation information.
Sensitive publication is held by default. A human inclusion decision checks source attribution and preserves dispute context; it is not proof of an allegation or legal approval. A separate release decision controls sensitive distribution.
“Response not recorded” means no statement metadata was recorded, not that a response was refused or a search completed. When supplied, athlete or school statements remain attributed and linked.
Overall Velocity Rating and modeled NIL estimates retain the existing internal risk contribution. Removing direct reputational scores does not remove that influence. These outputs are directional context, not a pay, recruit or reject recommendation.
Request a correction without purchasing access. Include the athlete ID and source URL or article ID so the source and identity can be reviewed.
CORE CONCEPT
Momentum vs. valuation.
Traditional metrics describe a point in time. Velocity Rating shows direction based on the latest available evidence and explains the published inputs and the retained internal contribution.
A high Velocity Rating doesn't mean an athlete is "worth more" — it reflects the available performance, visibility, and audience evidence together with the retained internal risk contribution. It does not predict a deal, payment, or future result.
Revenue sharing, third-party NIL compensation, collective support, commercial endorsements, and non-cash benefits are separate categories. Velocity Rating does not combine them into a claim about an athlete's worth.
── THE SCORE RECEIPT
A rating should come with an explanation.
The score receipt separates measured facts, model outputs, and recommended actions so users can understand the result before relying on it.
Evidence
The publication-eligible sources and available published inputs contributing to the result.
Freshness
When the rating and its underlying information were last updated.
Missing inputs
Data gaps are disclosed and are not treated as negative evidence.
Interpretation
Plain-language context and limits for model outputs; public coverage is a separate evidence view.
Correction path
Athletes can verify identity, correct profile information, and review permissions.

Four factors. One rating.
Each pillar is computed independently and then combined into a single composite — with the published inputs and their limitations explained. The retained internal risk contribution is disclosed without publishing its score.
PILLAR · 01
Performance
On-field or on-court production, role usage, and trajectory. For football QBs, RBs, WRs and TEs, consecutive checked team games without observed individual stats reduce current performance: one game of grace, then 5 points per additional game, capped at 25. Collection gaps interrupt the count; new observed stats reset it. This is not proof of nonparticipation. Other positions are exempt. Performance is one input to momentum, not a guarantee of NIL opportunity.

Public coverage and visibility signals. Publication-eligible stories, available source context, and update timing support review; withheld or unavailable material is not promised.

Social
Connected audience and engagement trends. Missing, stale, or unverified account data is identified instead of treated as a negative result.

Internal risk contribution
The retained calculation includes an internal risk contribution. Its numerical score and reputation classifications are not published. Public Coverage & Context is a separate, publication-gated evidence view; it does not replace this scoring input.
